Tajikistan and Indonesia signed five documents on cooperation

Almaty. August 1. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan and Indonesia signed five documents on cooperation, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Monday.

“Five new cooperation documents have been signed on results of the talks between Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo held in Jakarta on August 1, Jakarta”, press-service of the President of Tajikistan reports.

In particular, the governments signed an agreement on visa-free access for holders of diplomatic and service passports.

Also the talks resulted in signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries on training of diplomatic personnel, a MoU on cooperation between the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan (SCNS) and Indonesia National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), and a MoU between the Financial Monitoring Department of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (INTRAC) of the Republic of Indonesia on cooperation in exchanging information and combating money laundering and terrorism financing.

Both countries stressed their readiness to develop relations in such areas as construction, new technologies, tourism, Indonesian investments attraction into the Tajik economy.

President of Tajikistan invited the head of Indonesia to pay an official visit to Dushanbe at any time convenient.
As a result of the talks the parties expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Indonesia in politics, having also noted that the trade turnover between the two countries does not meet the requirements of the time so far.
