"Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon in the framework of his working visit to Brussels met with the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk. The sides discussed cooperation, prospects of cooperation between Tajikistan and the European Union. They also discussed security issues in Central Asia, the situation in Afghanistan and the threats of the modern world", - reported the press service of the head of state.
In addition, the president of the Republic of Tajikistan in the capital of Belgium, met with President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker.
"Tajikistan attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with the European Union and considers friendly relations with the EU, one of the pillars of its foreign policy", - said Rakhmon in the beginning of the meeting.
The meeting discussed issues of combating terrorism, extremism, conscientious action against the threats of the modern world and other issues of mutual interest.
