Tajikistan and the WB discussed access to electricity within CASA-1000

Almaty. August 7. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan and the World Bank discussed a community support program on access to electricity within the framework of the CASA-1000 project, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports.
As the secretariat of the ministry of finance of the republic informed, the issue was at the agenda of meeting held between the First Deputy Minister of Finance of Tajikistan Jamshed Karimzoda and the World Bank delegation headed by Jan-Peter Olters in Dushanbe. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss development of a community support program in the framework of the Central Asia and South Asia Electricity Trade Project (CASA-1000).
Particular attention was paid to the program’s financing mechanism.
Summing up the meeting, J.Karimzoda expressed confidence in the prospects of development of cooperation with the World Bank, both within the CASA-1000 project and the entire investment portfolio of the bank.
