The first flight by the Tajik “Somon Air” on the route Dushanbe-Tashkent took off from the capital’s airport on Friday morning. The first flight to Tashkent is a technical one performed as a trial. The regular flights connecting two capitals are scheduled to start as of February 20.

The participants are also expected to discuss a resumption of flights between other cities of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

As TajikTA reminds, direct flights between the cities of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, including Tashkent-Dushanbe route, were interrupted back in 1992 with beginning of civil war in Tajikistan.
