Tajikistan due to the rising threat of terrorism needs a strong army, the president

Almaty. February 23. Silkroadnews - President Emomali Rahmon, in his congratulatory message on the occasion of the armed forces of the country, said that Tajikistan needs a modern, well-equipped army in the conditions of the growing threat of terrorism and extremism, reports Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
According to the president, it is neccessary to build staff capacity to take further measures to upgrade weapons and equipment to strengthen the country's defense.
"Guide of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies in Tajikistan must take urgent measures to strengthen the state border to combat terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, drug expansion and other challenges, given the geographical location of Tajikistan, which has the longest border with Afghanistan (1,344 kilometers)", - stated Rahmon.
