"To achieve growth, Tajikistan needs to implement a program of deep structural reforms aimed at reducing the role of government and the role of the private sector in the economy through a more favorable business climate", - says the report of the World Bank, "Global Economic Prospects".
Notes that "this will increase the flow of private investment and create more productive jobs".
As recalled by the agency, the Government of Tajikistan plans to double the GDP in 2020, reduce the poverty rate to 20%, as well as to expand the middle class.
According to experts of the World Bank, Tajikistan must conduct deep structural reforms.
"The country will need to fundamentally change its growth model, which is currently focused on consumption, but in the end, is unsustainable", - the report says.
In addition, it is necessary to modernize and improve the efficiency and social inclusion of basic social services, to expand the level of transport connections with regional and global markets and the increase the level of education.
