Tajikistan granted Tajik Air airline and railways a remission of customs duties when importing vehicles

Beijing. January 25. Silkroadnews - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has exempted the national companies “Tajik Air” and “Tajik Railway” from paying VAT and customs duties when importing aircraft, locomotives and modern vehicles into the country, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Thursday.
According to the president’s website, the measures to be added by consideration of 50% customs duties reduction for the approved list of enterprises importing accessories for sewing school clothes, as well as equipment for the agricultural sector.
There is also a proposal to reduce 50% customs duties on import of new technologies for the pharmaceutical industry, medical diagnostics, technologies for setting up the production of poultry feed, new vehicles.
The deliveries mentioned are also exempted from VAT payments, except for new vehicles, VAT payments for which amount to 50%.
The term of the planned inspection on the first reporting of small business entities operation has been extended from 24 months to 36 months from the date of state registration of the entity.
In 2017 Tajikistan recorded more than 4260 customs violations.
“Tajik Air” is the national airline of Tajikistan based in the airport of Dushanbe and using the secondary airport of Khujand.
Since 2015, JSC “Tajik Air” has been ranking among the world’s safe airlines, according to the monitoring by independent portal Airlinerating.com on 407 world airlines.
