Almaty. November 8. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan agreed to accommodate flights by Russian airlines from “Zhukovsky” airport, TajikTA reported.

On November 7, on results of the consultations held in Moscow, Russia and Tajikistan agreed to continue to develop air traffic between the two countries. In particular, Tajikistan has agreed to accommodate flights by the Russian airlines from “Zhukovsky” airport.

Earlier, Russia warned to suspend flight connections with Tajikistan starting from November 8 in response to the Tajik authorities’ refusal to agree on assignment of Russian airlines flights from Zhukovsky new airport. The Tajik side claimed that “Zhukovsky” becomes the fourth full airport for Moscow aviation hub, thus, additional assignments of airlines for flights to Dushanbe and Khujand is Russia’s unilateral increase in number of carriers and flight frequency on these lines, though it requires to review the air traffic intergovernmental agreement between the two countries.
