Tajikistan introduces amendments to the Labour Code

Almaty. June 17. Silkroadnews – In Tajikistan the revised labor code has changed the procedure on formalization of relations between the employees/civil servants with the employer along with the salary payment order, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) informed on Friday.

“Today the lower chamber of the Tajik parliament has approved the draft of the Labour Code revised as assigned by the President Emomali Rahmon. The document drastically changes the order of labor relations regulation for the private entrepreneurs, people with home-based jobs, employees of the lower chamber of parliament of Tajikistan, staff of the diplomatic corps of Tajikistan and members of the security and law enforcement agencies,” the statement said.

According to the amendments, now the employer has a right to dismiss an employee without dismissal compensation in case an employee comes to work intoxicated.

The employment contract made with teenagers without the written consent of their parents shall be void.
The workers in hazardous industries shall be provided with free work clothes, shoes, hygiene products, diet food by the employer.

The new labor code requires all the employers operating in Tajikistan to pay wages at least two times per month.
