Tajikistan is interested in Azerbaijani investments in hydraulic power industry

Almaty. October 26. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan is interested to attract Azerbaijani investments into mutually beneficial projects in the hydraulic power industry and construction of large and small hydroelectric power plants, Trend writes.

“Hydropower projects have a regional impact; their implementation will serve the interests of all еру Central Asian states. The benefit of getting low electricity cost and its transit makes investments in this sector very attractive”, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan Zohir Saidov said.

The ambassador also added, Azerbaijani companies in Tajikistan may be interested in projects in the fields of textile industry, development of gold deposits, processing of fruits and vegetables, raw cotton and joint enterprises on processing of leather, wool, etc. According to him, Tajikistan is also ready to consider the possibility of participation Azerbaijani companies and financial institutions in the implementation of joint projects in trade, construction, transport and telecommunications.

The ambassador also noted trade turnover between the countries for eight months has made $9.2 million.
