Tajikistan legalized blocking the Internet and mobile communication in the course of counter-terrorist operations

Almaty. December 18. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan legalized blocking the Internet and mobile communications, reports the Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
"The fourth session of the Majlisi Milli (upper house of parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan of the fifth convocation today considered previously adopted by the lower house of parliament amendments to the law "On Combating Terrorism" and officially legalized blocking the Internet and mobile communication in "X" hours, - reported in the house of parliament.
In his speech, Senator, Head of the Executive Office of the President of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Hudoerzoda noted that according to the proposed amendments by the Government of the Republic, the State Committee of National Security of the Republic is entitled to restrict access to electronic communications in the areas of counter-terrorism operations.
Under the amendments, "X" hours restrictions on access to electronic communications (Internet, mobile communications, etc.) may be introduced not only in individual regions of the country, but, where appropriate, across the country.
