Tajikistan purchased USD 16.2 mln worth of military equipment and armaments last year

Dushanbe. March 19. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan purchased USD 16.2 mln worth of military equipment and armaments in 2013, as TajikTA reports.

This signifies USD 4.8 mln increase compared to 2012.

USD 8.7 mln of military equipment and armament imported from various countries around the world, while USD 7.5 mln worth of military equipment and armaments were ordered from the CIS neighbours.

Among the main exporters of military equipment and armaments are:
Bulgaria – around USD 6.2 mln
Russia – over USD 4.8 ml
Ukraine – over USD 2.7 mln
India – more than USD 2.1 mln

According to the source, Tajikistan has also ordered some of the military equipment and armaments from the USA, Israel, Turkey, Romania and China
