Tajikistan received humanitarian assistance from Kyrgyzstan in the amount of $52.6 thousand
Almaty. August 10. Silkroadnews - "On August 9, from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan for the population in areas affected by flooding, arrives the convoy composed of 25 cars from the Emergency Situations Ministry and the Defense Ministry of Kyrgyzstan with humanitarian aid. The total amount of humanitarian aid amounts to 3.3 million soms (over $52.6 thousand). It consist of building materials, blankets, food", - said the press service of the Emergency Ministry of Kyrgyzstan.
Recall, as a result of rising of water level in rivers, in Tajikistan went mudslides and landslides that were triggered by abnormal heat. The disaster killed eight people, five are still missing. Economic damage from the disaster is estimated at $100 million.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan appealed to the international community to assist in disaster relief. Many countries and international organizations, including the US and China, responded to this call.
