Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover in 9 months decreased by 18%
Almaty. October 15. Silkroadnews - In the first 9 months of this year the foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan has decreased by almost 18%, reported Tajik news agency (TajikTA) on Thursday.
"The volume of foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan in January-September 2015 reduced by 18%, compared to the same period last year", - reported the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
For the first three quarters of this year, the total volume of foreign trade turnover amounted to $3 billion 158.8 million, which is $687.1 less than the same period last year.
In January-September this year, the trade balance was negative, amounting to $1 billion 791.6 million.
Exports for the first 9 months of this year amounted to $683.6 million, which is 0.6% more than the same period last year.
In particular, precious and semi-precious stones and metals in the export structure of Tajikistan made up almost 27%, base metals - about 25%.
More than 23% of Tajik exports for the period totaled to mineral products, 15% - textiles, 5% - vehicles, machinery and equipment, a little more than 4% - products of vegetable origin, and the remaining 1% - other.
Imports of goods in January-September this year amounted to $2 billion 475.2 million, which is 21.8% less than in January-September 2014.
In particular, by 51% reduced imports of transport, by 30% - mineral products, 26% - wood and wood products, by 17% chemical products, by 13% - ready-made food products.
In the structure of imports over 21% are vehicles, machinery and equipment, 18% of mineral products, about 11% - products of vegetable origin, more than 10% - products of the chemical industry.
The main trade partner of Tajikistan is Russia, the volume of trade with it for 9 months of 2015 amounted to over $842 million. With China ($529 million), Kazakhstan ($506 million), Turkey ($264 million), Switzerland ($225 million) and Iran ($130 million).
