Tajikistan’s GDP grew 7.1% amounting to $6.9 billion in 2017

Beijing. January 19. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan’s GDP grew 7.1% amounting to $6.9 billion in 2017, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) on Friday.
In 2017, the gross domestic product of Tajikistan amounted to 61.1 billion somoni ($6.9 billion) with 7.1% annual growth, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda said at the summing-up meeting of the government of Tajikistan chaired by the President Emomali Rahmon the day before.
With this, the president’s press service informs, the growth in industrial goods production accounted for 21.3%, in agrarian sector - 6.8%, in capital investments and major investments - 4.1%, in retail trade - 6.6%.
Also, Tajikistan’s budget revenue grew by 13 million somoni ($1.4 million), amounting to 19.5 billion somoni ($2.2 billion), tax collection plan was fulfilled 102.6%, customs payments - 98%.
In 2017, 170 industrial enterprises were established in the country ensuring permanent employment for about 3,000 residents of the republic.
At the same time, due to underperformance on four points of the tax collection plan resulting in 400 million somoni ($45.4 million) of lost revenues for the country’s budget last year, E. Rahmon assigned the head of the tax committee to take urgent measures to rectify the situation.
