Tajikistan’s schools cancelled the farewell bell

Date: 17:58, 25-05-2016.

Almaty. May 25. Silkroadnews – The farewell bell was banned in the schools of Tajikistan, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Wednesday.

“The order by the Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Nuriddin Said, dated as of May 24, banned to carry out the “Maturity bells” (this is the name for the traditional “farewell bells” used in Tajikistan for the last years – Silkroadnews) marking the end of another academic year for this year,” the publication states.

It was noted that this year the end of the academic year will fall on June 7, not on May 25 as it was earlier.
The classes in all schools of Tajikistan shall be held according to the school schedule; no solemn celebratory assemblies are provided this year.

The heads of departments, education departments of regions, cities and districts of the republic, along with schools’ principals and class teachers are personally responsible to follow the order.

Last year the “Maturity bell” at the secondary schools took 45 minutes from 8.00 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. during the celebratory assembly along with the planned presentations of the schools’ administration leaders when the students listen to the order by the Minister of Education and Science on the “Maturity bell” and the rules of final examinations.

It is the fourth year when the “Maturity bell” in the country is held in June. Such a decision was made to complete the entire 34-weeks training program, as due to the cold winter the winter vacations were extended for a period from few days up to one month.
