Tajikistan to reduce poverty by 11% in four years

Almaty. November 25. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan plans to reduce poverty by 11% in four years, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Friday.

“The government of Tajikistan plans to reduce poverty rate from 31% in 2015 to 20% in 2020, i.e. to achieve 11% reduction”, the publication says.

These numbers, as noted, have been voiced in the course of discussion on the draft law “On organization of work on forecast of the major macroeconomic indicators of socio-economic development of the republic for 2018 and basic parameters for 2019-2020” and “Program for medium-term development of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2016-2020”.

During the government meeting the attention was paid to the fact that all of these indicators have been developed taking into account the impact of external factors and their realization will require effective and joint activities by all the government agencies.

After discussion the program was submitted to the lower house of Parliament.
