Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia are in the list of countries with a high level of risk – rating
Almaty. July 12. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia are recognized as the countries with a high level of risk, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports.
“Tajikistan has again joined the list of states with a dangerous level of risk, ranking 57th among 178 countries in the rating on Fragile States Index-2016. This is an annual report published by Research Center “Fund for Peace” and American magazine “Foreign Policy”,” the statement said.
Tajikistan’s index in the current rating stands at 83.8. The state with such rating is referred to “high warning” category of countries with a level of stability below average, where the authorities’ ability to control the situation “raises serious doubts”. In 2015 Tajikistan held the same position in this rating with 83.4 index.
“Among the countries of Central Asia this area of “high warning” also includes Uzbekistan (ranking 60th), Kyrgyzstan (64th). Russia (65th place) is also included in this category of countries. Situation is a little bit better with Turkmenistan (83rd place), where the level is “elevated warning”. Kazakhstan (113th place) joined the category of “warning” with the level of stability above average – a low level of risk,” the report says.
For the sixth consecutive year Finland has been recognized as the most stable country (178th), followed by Norway (177th), New Zealand (176th), Denmark (175th) and Switzerland (174th). As the most unstable this year the report considers Somalia (1st place), followed by Southern Sudan, Central African Republic, Sudan and Yemen.
Rating of weaknesses of the world countries shows ability (or inability) of states’ authorities to control the integrity of their countries’ territory, as well as demographic, political and economic situation.
