Tajikistan will create a National Committee on Trade Facilitation

Almaty. June 15. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan will establish a national committee on trade facilitation, reported the Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
The establishment of this body is a requirement of the WTO as part of the agreement on trade facilitation (TFA), which was ratified by Parliament in May this year.
The main functions of the department will be - support of the implementation of commitments by RT arising from TFA, it's role as a link between the Government of the Republic and the WTO Committee on Trade Facilitation, the integration of the private sector in the development of policies on trade facilitation, to assist the Government in determining priorities for donor support the dissemination of information on the development of the legal framework in the area of ​​trade facilitation, support of public awareness of issues related to trade facilitation, monitoring the performance of obligations arising from other bilateral agreements, etc.
In the long run trading environment, Tajikistan will benefit from this activity by reducing costs in cross-border transactions, both in financial terms and in terms of travel time.
