Tajikistan will firmly adhere to the One-China policy, the head of Tajikistan’s ministry of foreign affairs says

Almaty. May 24. Silkroadnews – The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, arrived in Tashkent to attend the meeting of foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), met with Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov, the newspaper “People’s Daily” reports.

Wang Yi said that based on the principles of joint discussion, construction and use China intends together with Tajikistan to continuously deepen cooperation in the joint construction of the economic belt of the Silk Road, promote cooperation in the field of transport, telecommunications and production capacity, explore a free trade area creation, strengthen security cooperation, jointly combat the “three evil forces” (terrorism, separatism and extremism), support the Tashkent SCO summit and bring new strength to the SCO development.

In his turn S. Aslov said Tajikistan thanks China for the support in the protection of the sovereignty and independence of the country rendered for a long time and will firmly adhere to the One-China policy. Tajikistan intends to take an active part in the construction of “one belt, one road” and implement the principle of mutual benefit. Tajikistan is ready to co-ordinate closely with China in the SCO.

S. Aslov also added that Tajikistan supports China’s position on the South China Sea, as well as the settlements of disputes with the countries concerned through the dialogue and negotiation. The external intervention will only block the reasonable settlement of the issues in case, he said.
