Taliban has released four kidnapped judges in Afghanistan
Beijing. Jul 26. Silkroadnews - The Taliban has released four judges who were kidnapped by the militant group fr om Jawzjan-Sar-e-Pul highway earlier this month, the Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) reported.
Information on the release of the captives has been confirmed by the Chief of Police of Sar-e-Pul Abdul Qayum Baqizoi. He also noted that the judges were released after a series of political negotiations, Ariana News writes.
Sources, however, reported that the Taliban has released the kidnapped in exchange for a ransom.
Sar-e-Pul is one of the provinces in the north of the country, wh ere the Taliban and Islamic State militant groups are active in a number of its remote areas.
