Taliban to punish militants for selfies with authorities and guardians of order

Beijing. June 19. Silkroadnews - Taliban militants celebrating Eid al-Fitr together with security force members will be punished, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
A number of Taliban militants used the cease-fire to openly appear in major cities with flags of the movement. Later social media showed numerous photographs of the Taliban celebrating Eid al-Fitr together with police, military, civil servants and ordinary civilians. However, Reuters agency said, the leaders of the extremist movement spoke against the Taliban militants’ taking part in public festivities.
Reportedly, all the movement commanders have been informed and instructed to take serious disciplinary action against all the members of the Taliban who met with the citizens and took photos with the Afghan authorities.
To remind, the ceasefire term announced by the Taliban expired yesterday. The Afghan government decided to extend the ceasefire for another 10 days, but the Taliban returned to armed struggle with the government.
