Tashkent hosted Uzbek-Japanese business forum
Almaty. August 8. Silkroadnews - Tashkent, during the visit of a delegation of Japanese business circles headed by the vice-president of the corporation "Marubeni" Mamoru Sekiyama, held Uzbek-Japanese business forum, said Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG).
"The forum discussed the promising project proposals in the field of oil and gas, petrochemicals, electrical industry, information and communication technologies, as well as the possibility of investment cooperation in the framework of "Navoi" FIEZ and PPE "Angren". Japanese businessmen are interested in creating opportunities in manufactures in Uzbekistan of modern gadgets as well as gas and oil refining capacity",- said the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade.
By the end of 2013 the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Japan exceeded $215 million. The total amount of financial and technical assistance provided by the Government of Japan to Uzbekistan amounted to more than $2 billion. Uzbekistan currently has 12 enterprises with Japanese investment, including one with 100% Japanese capital.
