Tehran and Baghdad have agreed to supply Iranian gas to Iraq

Almaty.12 November. Silkroadnews - Tehran and Baghdad signed a contract for the supply of Iranian gas, reported the newspaper "Vedomosti".
"Tehran and Baghdad signed a deal to export Iranian natural gas to the area of ​​the southern Iraqi port city of Basra", - said the agency.
Under the contract, Iran will daily export to Iraq 25 million cubic meters of gas. At the initial stage will be delivered 4 million cubic meters. In the future, the contract provides for increasing the volume of exports to 35 million cubic meters of gas per day.
The contract was signed under the intergovernmental agreement on gas export from 2013
Gas will be supplied by a 270-kilometer main gas pipeline from the Iranian South Pars field in the Persian Gulf. Source of energy will be used to generate electricity in three Iraqi CHP.
