Tehran is negotiating with the EEU on reduction of export taxes and trade tariffs

Almaty. February 4. Silkroadnews - Tehran hopes to negotiate with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) about significant decrease in export duties and tariffs in trade between the two countries, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Wednesday.
"The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Iran started to correspond and negotiate with the Eurasian Economic Union on a significant reduction of tariffs between the two sides. It is expected that next year will be signed an agreement between the parties",- said the Iranian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Mehdi Sanai.
According to him, because of high tariffs between Iran and the RF, Iranian products arrive to the Russian market through the territory of the intermediaries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as a result with significantly increased cost for the consumers of Russia. In this regard, the early conclusion of the relevant agreement between Iran and the EEU contributes to bearing of the pricing policy in trade relations between Tehran and Moscow, said the diplomat.
Earlier M. Sanai noted that cooperation between Iran and Russia have a number of problems to be solved. This is, in particular, the "high customs tariffs for Iranian exports to Russia".  According to him, the Iranian business repeatedly requested the authorities to take the necessary steps to reduce tariffs between the two countries.
