Almaty. April 21. Silkroadnews – Poor policies and lack of understanding of national interests cause the terrorism and radicalism, Afghanistan’s ex-president Hamid Karzai says, KazTAG reports.

“I think and there are the supporting evidences that the growth of extremism and radicalism comes from bad politics and not clearly defined national interests,” Karzai said at the XXIII Eurasian Media Forum in Astana on Thursday.
He noted that terrorism “arises not from the ideas coming from the society or religion,” but is a purely political tool.

In his turn, the former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw called radicalism and terrorism “infection of the mind”.
“What it can be there in any branch of Islam or any other religion that allows the whole communities to believe you can kill people in large numbers indiscriminately simply because you disagree with them? It is a virus, a disease of the mind affecting a greater number of people than the Ebola virus,” said J. Straw said.
He emphasized that the radicalism and terrorism today are the most serious infections the humanity face.
