Almaty. November 29. Silkroadnews - Terrorists should not take part in the Syrian peace talks, the deputy of the Iranian parliament believes, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported with reference to Tasnim News Agency.
Once again Hossein Naqavi Hosseini stressed, Tehran supports the Syrian people’s right to self-determination, but noted the terrorists supported by foreign countries, who killed many Syrians and destroyed the Arab country, should not be a part of the peace talks, the report said.
The deputy also touched on the recent summit of Iran, Russia and Turkey on the Syrian crisis and said Tehran’s position in this regard is quite clear.
“We have defended democracy and the rights of the Syrian people,” the agency quoted him saying. Mr.Hosseini also added, Iran has joined the people and government of Syria to restore tranquility in this Arab country.
“When we say the negotiations should be Syrian-Syrian, we mean the government, the people and unarmed opposition groups. It is natural that this important issue does not include terrorists, who have shed the blood of the Syrian people and destroyed the country,” he said.
To remind, on November 22, the presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey issued a statement after the meeting in Sochi and holding of talks on the peaceful settlement of the Syrian crisis.
The summit was a part of the political efforts three countries have made to ensure peace in Syria, which is recovering from the civil war that started in 2011 and generated a large number of terrorist groups.
“On November 19, the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group was flushed out of its last stronghold in Syria’s Al-Bukamal. The city’s liberation marked an end to the group’s self-proclaimed caliphate it had declared in 2014,” the report said.
