The Afghan drugs smuggling still is one of the major problems in Tajikistan
Almaty. June 12. Silkroadnews – Minsk hosted 19th meeting of the coordinating council of heads of competent bodies for countering illicit drug trafficking of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports.
“The meeting was presided by the State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Igor Zubov. The special attention was paid to the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border, where, according to the head of the Tajik anti-drug agency Sherkhon Salimzoda, the situation remains alarming”, the report says.
The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the development of practical cooperation, joint anti-drug operations, intensification of fight against transnational drug crime, and suppression of channels for transportation of Afghan drugs to the territory of the CSTO countries.
