The Asian Development Bank will provide $110 million for the modernization of Toktogul HPP in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. December 26. Silkroadnews - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide $110 million for the modernization of Toktogul HPP in Kyrgyzstan, reports KyrTAG with reference to the press service of the bank.
ADB provided loan of $ 65.5 million and a grant of $44.5 million, both stand on favorable terms from the Asian Development Fund. Kyrgyz government will provide counterpart funding in the amount equivalent to nearly $41 million.
The power plant will be fully renovated in three phases, the duration of the current, the second phase is more than 7 years, and the expected completion date is the end of December 2021.
The upgrade will increase the specific power generation from the current 300 megawatts (MW) to 360 MW, improve efficiency of power plants by 2.5%, and increase the availability of electricity generated from the current 80% to 95%. Given the technological power losses in the system reached 15% of the useful output.
