The Center for the Protection of Afghan Women Journalists opened in Kabul
Almaty. March 9. Silkroadnews – “The Center for the Protection of Afghan Women Journalists” created under support of the “Reporters Without Borders” international organization has been opened in Kabul, Afghan Telegraph Agency (AftAG) reports.
Farida Nikzad, the head of the center, said the organization’s activities will be aimed at combating violations of the rights of media employees and expanding their work opportunities in Afghanistan. She also expressed her hope that the organization will allow those journalists previously forced to leave the profession for security reasons to return to their work.
The center, as it is reported, plans to carry out seminars on self-defense and information security, and also to assist journalists in their work - to provide for exchange of information and useful contacts for cooperation, which is of especial importance for those working in remote areas of the country.
The organization plans to expand its activities gradually opening representative offices throughout Afghanistan.
