Almaty. August 24. Silkroadnews - The cost of a barrel of North Sea Brent crude oil fell below $45 and continued to drop, reported RBC.
"Trading in futures on the London Stock Exchange resumed after the weekend at $45.26. Three hours after the start of trading the price of a barrel of Brent reached the mark of 45 dollars and in a short time later overcame this level", - said in a statement.
By 5.00 MSK Brent has traded at $44.62 a barrel. This is the lowest figure since 2009. Then, during the financial crisis, oil prices dropped to $39.
On the oil market continues to be influenced by the fall of the Chinese economy and the increase of US inventories.
The drop in oil prices led to a decline of the ruble. On Friday evening, US dollar exchange rate exceeded the level of 69 rubles, the euro was worth more than 78 rubles 50 kopecks.
