The defense ministers of China and India have agreed to cooperate in the fight against terrorism

Almaty. November 16. Silkroadnews - The Chinese and Indian senior defense officials on Monday called for cooperation in fighting terrorism.
The call came after the dealy terror attacks in Paris on Friday.
Visiting Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Fan Changlong said during his meeting with Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar that China opposes all forms of terrorism and is ready to work with the international community to fight it.
Fan said in about one year's time, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have met several times, and the two leaders have reached consensus to build a tighter partnership for development to push the bilateral relations to a new stage.
He said that the Sino-Indian relations are showing good momentum of development and the two countries are carrying out pragmatic cooperation with good results.
Fan said China attaches great importance to developing ties with India and the Chinese military is willing to cooperate with its Indian counterpart to actively implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries to build a comprehensive exchange mechanism, expand cooperation in specific fields, and enrich the contents and meaning of the strategic cooperative partnership between the two sides.
He also expressed his hope that the two sides could properly handle their disputes, strengthen border defense cooperation and take efficient measures to safeguard peace and stability in the border areas between the two countries.
For his part, Parrikar said that both India and China are victims of terrorism and India hopes to stage common fight against international terrorism with China.
He said that since last year, the Indian and Chinese leaders have exchanged frequent visits to each other's country while the two militaries are also seeing an apparently upswing of relations.
India regards developing relations with China as a priority in its diplomacy as good relationship between the two countries has great importance for realizing the vision of the Asian Century, he said.
Parrikar said India is ready to strengthen defense cooperation with China and work hard to maintain border peace and stability.
India also looks forward to increasing dialogue and coordination with China and enhancing exchanges between the border troops of the two countries so that the relations between the two militaries can also move forward continuously, said the Indian defense minister.
