Almaty. September 30. Silkroadnews - Depreciation of som - one of the main factors reducing the imports from China, says economist Uran Kadir.
"Devaluation of som has reduced imports from China. Dollar reaches 70 soms, while the yuan has weakened by 3-4%. This is one of the key factors that reduced the volume of imported goods from China",- said U.Kadir to KyrTAG on Wednesday.
He explained that in terms of som Chinese goods became more expensive. Perhaps this will be the beginning of a trend of reducing trade imbalances with China, where imports several times is greater than exports.
Another reason for the decrease of Chinese import is decline in purchasing power in Kazakhstan and Russia.
"We were engaged in re-export, but there was a decrease of purchasing power in Kazakhstan and Russia. Therefore supply decreased",- said U. Kadir.
Recall, for 7 months the volume of Kyrgyz-Chinese trade decreased by 19% .
