The EBRD will lend Tajikistan $5.3 million for waste management in Nureke

Almaty. February 25. Silkroadnews - European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will lend Tajikistan $5.3 million for solid waste management in Nureke, reported the Tajik news agency (TajikTA) on Wednesday.
As explained the First Deputy Minister of Finance Jamoliddin Nuraliev: "We are talking about new ways of collecting solid waste, including exporting them from special equipment, as well as the creation of space for waste disposal".
According to officials, to abandon outdated ways of recycling and introduce new technlogy, Nurek government appealed to the EBRD for funds.
"We have decided to allocate funds for the implementation of this project in the amount of $5.3 million. The 2 million from the specified amount will be a soft loan, $2 million grant and $ 1.3 million - technical assistance for the provision of advice", - said the deputy minister.
If the City of Nurek, for whatever reasons, will not be able to repay the debt, it will be repaid from the state budget of the country.
