The EEU new Customs Code will enter into force on January 1, 2018
Almaty. May 2. Silkroadnews – The new Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will come into force on January 1, 2018, press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported.
As noted, the meeting of the EEC Council was held on April 28, 2017, with participation of the deputy prime ministers of the EEU member states’ governments.
Among the decisions by the EEC Council there was a processes synchronization to ratify the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union to enter the code into force as of January 1, 2018, the report said.
“Simultaneously with the code, the priority decisions on 25 issues assigned to the supranational level will be acted upon to regulate activities of the authorized economic operators and movement of goods by individuals”, the information says.
The new code is reported to replace the Customs Code of the Customs Union adopted in 2009. Earlier it was assumed to come into force on July 1, 2017. The document is designed to lay the groundwork to move towards the unified customs regulation within the framework of the EEU.
