The expansion of the SCO and the fight against terrorism will be discussed at the forum in Khanty-Mansiysk

Almaty. March 11. Silkroadnews - Interaction in regional security, as well as the expansion of economic and humanitarian cooperation will be the themes of the X Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Wednesday in Khanty-Mansiysk, reported TASS.
As noted, the agenda of the forum also includes topics such as the fight against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and illegal migration. Experts will discuss issues relating to the activities of the SCO, evaluate work on the development strategy of the organization.
The session will discuss prospects of the adoption into the SCO India and Pakistan, which currently have observer status. According to SCO Secretary General Dmitry Mezentsev, in legal terms, the question of the possible extension of the SCO has been worked out, remained political decision at the level of Heads of State.
Much attention will be paid to the development of dialogue with international organizations.
Organizers believe, that the Forum in Ugra will provide an opportunity to establish contacts with the scientific community of the SCO countries, explore the potential of cooperation with partners from the district of the SCO in various fields.
The discussion will be attended by delegations from 13 countries - members of the SCO: Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan; observers: India, Pakistan, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Iran; dialogue partners: Russia, Turkey.
At the SCO Forum in Khanty-Mansiysk will be made recommendations and suggestions to the summits of the Organization. The next meeting of the SCO will be held in Ufa in July 2015.
