Almaty. January 6. Silkroadnews – The former officials convicted of mass murder in April 2010 got released before time in Kyrgyzstan, KyrTAG reports.

This information was confirmed by the State Offender Management Service under the Kyrgyz government on Friday.
“In particular, the former head of the presidential administration Kanybek Joroev and the former Prosecutor General Nurlan Tursunkulov convicted on the case of the April events have been reported as released on parole”, the statement said.

As the State Offender Management Service officials explained, the law states that release on parole for those convicted of a minor or average gravity crime can be applied if they have served at least one third of their sentence.
“The decision on the former officials’ release has been taken by the Alamudun district court judges”, the explanation said.

To remind, the former officials were found guilty of the use of weapons against civilians in the April 2010 events and have been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

On April 7, 2010, several thousand opposition supporters seized the Government House in Bishkek, forcing President Kurmanbek Bakiyev to flee to the south of Kyrgyzstan. The building guards opened the fire for effect when the oppositionists tried to seize the building. The number of victims of April 7 totaled 87 people, more than 400 people got injured. K. Bakiyev resigned a week after the overthrow.
