Bishkek. October 20. Silkroadnews - Federation Council delegation headed by Chairman of the House Valentina Matvienko will visit the Kyrgyz Republic on October 20-21, where she will discuss the prospects of Russian-Kyrgyz cooperation, reports the Russian news agency TASS.
"In the framework of the two-day visit she will meet with the president of Kyrgyzstan and hold negotiations in the parliament", - said in a statement.
Also, the speaker of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament will visit Russian-Kyrgyz Slavic University and the air base of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in "Kant".
Chairman of the Council is in the view that new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries will be more fruitfull after the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space. In this regard, it is recalled that Russia is ready to assist the country in implementing the "road maps" for entry into these integration associations. This includes both financial assistance and legal support of the republic in the adaptation of national legislation to the rules of the Common Economic Space, explained the speaker of the Federation Council.
Matviyenko also pointed to the traditionally extensive cooperation between the two countries in the humanitarian field, especially in the field of education, the spread of the Russian language.
Currently in Kyrgyzstan there are branches of Russian universities, acting Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, which trains more than 11 thousand students. In turn, higher education in Russia produced for about three thousand kyrgyz students.
