The head of the government of Kyrgyzstan held a meeting on border strengthening
Almaty. March 18. Silkroadnews - The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariyev held a meeting to discuss the measures to strengthen the state border, KyrTAG reports.
The meeting was held with participation of representatives of the Kyrgyz defense council, the state border service and other public agencies.
The Prime Minister noted the relevant authorities shall be committed to their duties to provide for the state border security and strengthening.
At the end of the meeting Prime Minister has assigned the relevant authorities to ensure the security of citizens living within country’s border regions.
Meanwhile, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev had a meeting with the chairman of the State Border Service (SBS) Raimberdi Duyshenbiev, who informed President on the measures taken to strengthen the defense and protection of the state border to ensure the integrity of the country’s external borders.
R. Duyshenbiev also reported on the progress of reconstruction and modernization of the state border checkpoints.
The President have charged a number of further tasks to improve the border units’ combat capability.
Earlier, as KyrTAG reported, the Uzbek military personnel put two armored vanguard vehicles and two “KamAZ” vehicles at the undescribed area of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border in Mogul Ala- Buka region of Jalal-Abad oblast of Kyrgyzstan.
According to Kyrgyzstan SBS press service, there are about 35-40 military men of Uzbekistan staying at this area.
In this regard, on the initiative of the Kyrgyz side the negotiations of border services of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan started in Mogul place at 08.50 am.
At 08.00 am the Uzbek side in one’s sole discretion closed the checkpoint “Madaniyat-road”.
At the checkpoint “Dostuk-road” the Uzbek authorities imposed restrictions for the people and vehicles passing. Thus, citizens of Kyrgyzstan are allowed to leave Uzbekistan, yet prohibited to enter. At the same time no restrictions have been introduced for the citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the transit procedures also operate in the normal regime for the third countries’ citizens.
In its turn, the Kyrgyz side has stopped passing citizens of Uzbekistan (people and vehicles) at the checkpoints “Baymak-road”, “Ken-Sai-road” and “Kadamjai-road”.
