The head of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan presented evidences of legality and independence of KazTAG partners' operation in other countries

Almaty. September 22. Silkroadnews – The head of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Seitkazy Matayev presented evidences of legality and independence of KazTAG news agency partners' operation in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and China, the agency reports.

«In 2010 we opened the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency. Then, one year later, the Tajik news agency. All these agencies are independent and have due licenses. I can show. You know, Afghanistan experiences quite tough time, there is a war there. I had a personal meeting with President Karzai and we have received a license to open the Afghan news agency in Kabul, the agency facilitators helped to acquire the building in the center of Kabul. Then Iran started to get rid of Western sanctions, we have decided to open the Iranian News Agency in Tehran. And we have done this job, we have established a regional network», S.Matayev said at the court hearings in Astana on Thursday.

With this he also said about beginning of the international news agencies network development.

«In 2014 we undertook the first steps to build the worldwide network. We opened «Silkroadnews» agency, translated as «News of the Silk Road», with the consent of the Chinese authorities in Beijing we have opened the agency working in Chinese. You all know well this is a huge market of information, and there is arrangement for openning (of the agencies – Silkroadnews) in Armenia and Azerbaijan and go all over the world. We believe the information is a good product, it can be sold. I'd like to emphasize we have succeeded in it», S. Matayev said.

In addition, he stressed the KazTAG news agency is the only one in the country that earns money independently.

«KazTAG is the only agency in the country that earns money through one's operation. None of the media in Kazakhstan earns money. They are either get money through the state support, or from the sponsors/founders.

Today KazTAG operates quite successfully, our regional partners «have their feet firmly on the ground». I have been staying under house arrest for seven months, my son Asset – for six months, yet these agencies operate running like clockwork», S. Matayev said.
