The heads of energy ministries of Russia, Armenia, Georgia and Iran will discuss issues of regional cooperation in Yerevan

Almaty. April 13. Silkroadnews – The regional energy cooperation issues shall be discussed in Yerevan during the meeting of the main energy officials of Iran (Hamid Chitchian), Russia (Alexander Novak), Armenia (Hovik Abrahamyan) and Georgia (represented by the deputy minister of energy of Georgia), IrTAG reports.

As the prime minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan said, Yerevan meeting “shall boost the energy cooperation and implementation of joint projects in the industry”.

Development of cooperation in the four-party format is “a good support to deepen the regional integration, raise energy stability and strengthen energy security in the region,” the Iranian minister agrees.

The first meeting of ministers in this format was held here on December 23, 2015. It resulted in memorandum, providing for raising the level of control of power flows and efficient, safe and reliable operation of power systems. The document builds the base for four countries collaboration opportunities, the ministry of energy of Armenia explains.
