Almaty. October 2. Silkroadnews - China's PMI fell to a minimum of 2009, reported the newspaper "Vedomosti".
"The final component of the index of business activity in the manufacturing sector (PMI) of China's economy in September fell to a minimum of March 2009, amounting to 47.2 points", - says the publication, citing data from research business magazine Caixin.
The value of September turned out to be slightly lower than the final figure of August which amounted to 47.3 points.
PMI is the results of a survey of purchasing managers in the industry. A value below 50 points is an indicator of a slowing economy, higher - acceleration.
"Reduced production, partly due to the weaker demand, also forced the producers to reduce their business activity in September. The current PMI index shows the continued weakening of the industry, although the pressure on the sector decreased slightly", - said the chief economist of Caixin Insight Group Fan Ho.
"The sector has reached a critical stage in the process of structural transformation. Moderate demand - a key factor in the oversupply of production and the reason why it has not recovered",- he said.
