Almaty. September 28. Silkroadnews - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is convinced that Iran and the US still have much to do before the long-standing enmity and antagonism between the two countries will decline, informed the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
The head of state, who arrived in New York to attend the UN General Assembly session, at meeting with the leadership of the leading American and Western media said that it will be very difficult to overcome the years of "discord and animosity" between Iran and the United States. He pointed to the Iranian people's dissatisfaction with the policy of the United States in the Middle East.
The Iranian leader also touched upon the issue of a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, which was concluded by Tehran and "six" mediators (the five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany) in July and stressed that it would be a "serious test" for Washington.
"Full implementation of the nuclear agreement is an important test of confidence ... sanctions should be lifted so that the Iranian people were convinced of the effectiveness of negotiations", - he said.
At the same time H.Rouhani noted that the joint comprehensive action plan (JCAP) signed between Iran and the "six", must be implemented on time, despite the opposition in political circles in the United States and Iran.
