The next meeting of the SCO defense ministers will be held in China in 2018

Almaty. 7 June. Silkroadnews – A meeting of the defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Astana, the press service of the Kazakhstani Defense Ministry reported.
“During the meeting the parties exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional security. The priority task for the SCO member states is to maintain and strengthen peace, security and stability in the region. The meeting participants analyzed and summed up the results of cooperation for the past year”, the Defense Ministry said.
In addition, the prospects for further development of cooperation between the defense departments of the SCO countries have been considered as a basis for 2018-2019 cooperation plan. The participants also signed the protocol of intentions between the military departments in the field of studying and preserving the historical and cultural heritage.
The next meeting of the SCO defense ministers is scheduled for 2018 in China.
The meeting was attended by the heads of defense departments of Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, the Secretary General of the SCO and director of the executive committee of the SCO Regional Antiterrorism Structure.
To remind, on June 8-9 Astana will host the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of States.
