The pension reform with an annual 15% increase of pensions has been proposed by the parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic

Almaty. April 21. Silkroadnews – The Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic proposes a pension reform with 15% annual pension increase, the deputy of “Republic Ata-Jurt” party Ruslan Kazakbaev said, KyrTAG reports.

“According to the National Statistics Committee, in 2015 the average pension ranged from 2 to 4 thousand som.

Pension valorization even by small percent – will be a good news for the pensioners. But if we have a real increase? Last year we said the pensions increased by 10%. Yet, inflation made 12% for the same period, meaning the purchasing power of population fell, thus, it was not an increase, but a simple compensation. It is necessary to reform the pension fund, it is necessary to stipulate an annual increase of pensions by 15%,” he said at the parliamentary session on Thursday.

He also added the first task on the reform concept development was made 4 years ago, yet there are still no proposals made by the Social Fund in this regard.
