The Pentagon has confirmed the death of the American general in Afghanistan

Almaty. August 6. Silkroadnews - The Pentagon has confirmed the death of the general of United States armed forces at a military base in Afghanistan, according to the portal lenta.ru.
As it turned out, the attacker, in Afghan uniform, slipped on a military base and opened fire on the soldiers. The attack killed one American soldier, another 15 were wounded. The Pentagon did not give exact name and military rank of the dead. It is noted that among the victims there Afghan soldiers too.
"The President was briefed on the shooting incident that took place in the Afghan military facility in Kabul. More than 12 coalition of soldiers were killed or wounded, and at least one American soldier, general, was killed",- said White House spokesman Josh Ernest.
Major-General, who is not named, was the most senior American military who died in Afghanistan since the start of operations in 2001.
Earlier, on August 5 the death of an American General was reported in the publication of Der Spiegel. Member of the armed forces of Afghanistan Mohammad Zahir Azimi confirmed this information: "Terrorist in army uniform opened fire on local and foreign soldiers".  According to him, the attacker was killed by return fire.
