The Pentagon to present a new military strategy for Afghanistan

Almaty. May 5. Silkroadnews – Next week the Pentagon will present a revised plan of action for Afghanistan to the US President Donald Trump, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
“At the moment we actively review changing the approach to the situation in Afghanistan. I expect that these proposals will go to the President within the next week”, Theresa Whelan, acting assistant secretary of defense for special operations, low-intensity conflict, said.
According to the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, the new US administration considers its major task in Afghanistan to launch a process of genuine national reconciliation.
