The process of the election recount in Afghanistan can take several months

"Deputy IEC Head Abdul Rahman Hotaki convinces presidential candidates to complete an agreement on technical audit settings as soon as possible, otherwise the audit process encounters with disputes", - said in a statement released on Wednesday.
"Yesterday, we sent letters to both teams to agree on the procedure, otherwise the Commission will be based on the same procedure, or we will be forced to stop the audit", - said in a statement A.Hotaki.
Former presidential candidate  Daoud Sultanzoy, currently a member of A. Ahmadzai team, said that the agreement on the audit procedure will be completed by the end of Tuesday. He stressed that the cancellation of votes shall be conducted in accordance with a control process.
"Both candidates will reach agreement on Tuesday. But if their votes are invalid, they must be based on the IEC procedure to ensure the impossibility of discrimination", - said D. Sultanzoy.
Program Manager in the fund free and fair elections in Afghanistan (FEFA) Mohammad Naim Asghar said that "elections is national process and a global phenomenon. Therefore, the holding of free and fair elections should be in accordance with international standards and respect for people".
IEC Officials reported that it is necessary to increase the technical groups to accelerate the process of revision.
The Commission reported that since the beginning of the audit, in total by Tuesday were audited about 700 boxes of ballots. Thus, it was confirmed that the plan to check one thousand boxes a day failed. IEC made ​​a statement that at this level the procedure will take several months.
