The public association leaders accused of preparation of the seizure of power got arrested in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. May 16. Silkroadnews – The leaders of the oppositional association “Eldik Parliament” Bekbolot Talgarbekov and Torobay Kolubaev along with a group of people accused of planning to seize power in Kyrgyzstan have been taken into custody for two months according to the court’s decision, KyrTAG reports.

“Based on the evidences gathered on May 14, 2016, a charge was brought against B.T., T.K. and M.S. on constituent elements of offence under art. 27-295 (preparation for the violent seizure of power), 27-341 (preparing to use violence against a government representative) and 299 (arousing national, racial, religious or interregional enmity) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. On the same day, the decision of the Pervomaiskiy district court of Bishkek city was made for the accused persons to be taken into custody for two months’ period,” the publication said with reference to the Kyrgyz State National Security Committee on Monday.

It is noted that the criminal case was launched on May 12.

According to the materials of investigation, the persons arrested “planned to organize actions directed to destabilize the socio-political situation in the country and further illegal actions on the violent seizure of power” and for this end produced and distributed printed materials containing appeals for inter-ethnic and interregional enmity.

According to the agency, the records of the phone conversations between the opposition leaders of “People’s Parliament” of Kyrgyzstan have appeared in the Internet. From the record one can hear that people talking threatened to organize mass disorders with use of weapons “left over from 2010”. The record’s authors claim the talks referred therein are held between the members of “Eldik Parliament” Bekbolot Talgarbekov, Torobay Kolubaev and others. Earlier, the leaders of the “People’s Parliament” announced the meetings of the opposition to be held in Kyrgyzstan on May 17.
