The SCO Foreign Ministers will prepare in Tashkent the documents for the June 14 summit of the heads of the organization member states

Almaty. May 24. Silkroadnews – On May 23-24 Tashkent hosts the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” informs.

“Participants of the meeting are to prepare 14 documents to be submitted to the Heads of the “Shanghai Six” member states (Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan) during the June summit in Tashkent,” the publication says.

Among the documents in point are the Tashkent Declaration dedicated to the SCO’s fifteenth anniversary, SCO Convention on the fight against extremism, anti-drug strategy for 2017-2022.

The ministers are also to discuss with their Indian and Chinese counterparts the preparations of New Delhi and Beijing to join the Organization. In June India and China will sign a memorandum on the obligations to obtain the SCO membership.

At the same time the meeting agenda includes discussion of prospects for the development of the SCO.
This year the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is chaired by Uzbekistan.
Summit of the heads of the SCO member states will be held in Tashkent on June 23-24.
